Curriculum
‘Subject choice during the Sixth Form years is one of the key decisions teenagers make in their lives – determining their future university and life prospects.’ – Sir Peter Lampl, Chairman of the Sutton Trust
Didsbury Sixth Form offers an academic curriculum with a range of A Level subjects. Most students will study three A level subjects over the course of Years 12 and 13, but four may be possible.
Making informed choices will support students to make the most of their current and future education. Our curriculum supports students to gain access to the best universities and ultimately make a positive contribution in whatever context they eventually live and work.

Choosing your A levels
‘It is really important that students do not disadvantage themselves by choosing a combination of subjects at A level which will not equip them with the appropriate skills and knowledge for their university course or which may not demonstrate effectively their aptitude for a particular subject.’ – Dr Wendy Piatt, Director General of the Russell Group
The subject choices you make at A Level are very important. They will have a direct impact on the course you follow at university, the university you go to, and potentially your future career. It’s useful to get as much information as you can, as soon as you can.
